One Year Married! | Maplelag Resort Wedding, Callaway, MN
One year married and, let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride…
A few years before Zach and I started dating, I second shot a winter wedding at this serene lodge, tucked away in the backwoods of central Minnesota. From the moment I walked through the doors of the main lodge, I fell in love with the venue and the family who runs it. Around every corner was something new and yet, it felt just like home to me. The lodge was Maplelag Resort in Callaway, MN.
Many from around my hometown know Maplelag for it’s amazing cross country skiiing, and it’s great biking trails in the summer, but I knew the resort in a totally different way. It’s a place I felt I could just step back in time, relax, and just be in the moment- and not just photograph it.
Maplelag is a place that brings people together. There are no TVs, little cell reception, and low wi-fi access, but there is no shortage of cookies, coffee, board games, and spaces to meet new friends and gather around your loved ones. It’s a place to celebrate friendship and family. That’s why we chose it as the place we wanted to get married and we couldn’t be happier.
We’ve waited to share the images from our wedding because we wanted to have some time to show our friends and family in person, and to reminisce about the day together but we’re SO excited to be sharing these images with you as we celebrate our one year anniversary.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone for your love, support, and kindness as we continue living our adventure and enjoy married life. We LOVE you and thank you so much for all you’ve done and continue to do for us. You mean to the world to us.
